Our Vision

Shaping the future we want through the education we need.

We are SF CHANGE: San Francisco Communities who Help Advance the New Generation of Education.

We understand that with every new generation, new issues arise that are not sufficiently addressed in an older education curriculum. Beyond just academics, students must learn to navigate society and the responsibilities associated with being thoughtful citizens.

We firmly believe that a lesson today creates a leader tomorrow.

Our team of ambitious youth leads workshops at schools from all grades K-12 in San Francisco on topics that were chosen based on our survey data of 50 public and private schools in San Francisco. Many times, the gap between our education and our society begins young within our youth. Based on survey results, topic workshop examples include social media safety for elementary school students, career options and racial sensitivity for middle school students, and finances and college applications for high school students. By holding workshops in under-resourced schools with at-risk youth, we hope to manifest a more equitable education that prepares students for life inside and outside of the classroom.

Bridging the Gap Between our youth and our government.

Our organization is partnered with members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors (BOS) and many other community organizations. The SF CHANGE board acts as liaisons between stakeholders (students, teachers, parents, etc) and the BOS to relay pertinent issues facing the youth of SF via community panels. We hope to use our platform and existing support to create concrete change in the systemic and practical applications of our education while spearheading initiatives for change.

A new generation of issues calls for a new generation of education.
