Shaping the future we want through the education we need.

San Francisco Communities who Help Advance the New Generation of Education (SFCHANGE) is a youth-led community organization that aims to provide free educational workshops to under-resourced schools on topics that aren’t covered in the standard curriculum. SF CHANGE has presented 90+ workshops in virtual classrooms to 3000+ students in San Francisco. SF CHANGE has grown to 20+ youth leaders, collaborated with 30+ community organizations, and partnered with 20+ local elected officials. Utilizing a citywide survey with 1000+ responses, teacher feedback, and student pre/post-assessments, SF CHANGE has created workshop curricula for 15 topics tailored to every age group and class. SF CHANGE will also hold stakeholder meetings between our youth and government, bridging the gap between youth and our world.

Become a Workshop Director!

Workshop directors are expected to present 1-2 workshops(most of which will be in-person) per month at a predetermined time, based off of SF CHANGE's official curriculum. Transportation fees will be covered. Possible in-person sites include SF schools, afterschool programs, organizations, and community centers.

SF CHANGE is able to compensate our youth leaders $2o0 for participating in this program. We will be selecting 8-10 applicants-- those not selected as a workshop director may volunteer as a team member or nominated as a committee chair/leader.

We are looking for youth leaders who are:

• Comfortable with public speaking to an audience of all ages(or at least ready to step outside their comfort zone)
• Willing to seek a challenge and expand the reach of our initiative
• Passionate about education policy and advocacy
• Want to impart a systemic and lasting change on the San Francisco Community
• Interested in working with other young people

Connecting Youth to the World

Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond what is covered in school to ensure that students can thrive both inside and outside of the community. Our committees are delivered by one of our 20+ youth leaders.
